The Founder of the Egyptian Circle Dance Festival
Mohamed El-Sayed
Dance Coach & Percussionist Extraordinaire
Born in Cairo, Mohamed El-Sayed grew up as an orphan and found his purpose through art. In 1995, he moved to Spain, where he began his artistic journey studying acting and dance under the guidance of the renowned Shukri Mohamed.
He mastered Sufi dance at the Tannoura School in Sultan Al-Ghouri Mosque with the great Bendik Al-Azraq, and honed his percussion skills under the world-class Khamees Hanks.
A Global Artist
Mohamed has performed worldwide as both a dancer and percussionist.
His tour “From Cairo to Baghdad” in December 2005 produced both a CD and a DVD, highlighting his exceptional musical and dance talents.
He has collaborated on educational projects such as:
“Dabke: Learn Arabic Rhythms”
“Eyes on You”
He also co-founded Orientarte Records with Elena Khoury, and established the Oriental dance group “Hanin.”
Recent Artistic Highlights
Among his notable performances, Mohamed portrayed Slim in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera “Abduction from the Seraglio” at the Royal Theatre in Madrid.
During his Latin American tour (October–January), he participated in numerous shows and conducted workshops on dance and rhythm.
In Spain, he toured Marbella, Madrid, Barcelona, Castellón, and Valencia, performing “Eyes on You” alongside Egyptian singer Sabry Tagian and guest dancers.
Today
Mohamed El-Sayed is the owner and director of the Molana Centre in Cairo, a vibrant cultural arts hub where he trains and mentors a new generation of artists.
With seven educational CDs on Eastern rhythms, he continues to evolve as a show designer, performer, and teacher.
Currently, he is preparing for the third edition of his own festival:
“Circle Dance Festival – Egypt, mid-2026.”
