ALCHEMY: ZeoT’s 2025 Bellydance Show Ignites Transformation on Stage

From the bubbling of ideas to the burning away of the past, our latest production, ALCHEMY, invited the audience into a world where movement becomes magic.

At ZeoT Zürich, we believe belly dance is more than choreography. It’s a transformational journey. This year’s show, held on Saturday, June 14th, 2025, at Aula Räimbühl, was an artistic exploration of change, both chemical and emotional. Inspired by alchemical processes, each piece reflected personal and collective transformation, inviting dancers and viewers alike to witness the beauty of becoming.

Whether it’s your first show or your tenth, when you dance with us, you become part of something bigger. A community that lifts, evolves, and inspires.

Thank you to everyone who made this year’s show such a success!

Highlights from ALCHEMY: A Night of Magic, Movement & Meaning

So many unforgettable moments lit up the stage:

  • Nicole’s opening piece was mystical and pure. Her white whirls paired with Boris’s haunting spoken word and sign language drew us instantly into the liminal space between science and spirit.

  • Rachida’s ContempOriental group explored states of matter through elegant transitions and grounding movement. A seamless blend of oriental and contemporary.

  • In Lhamo’s veil choreography, the dancers moved with serene power. Veils rippled like water, seemingly alive with emotion.

  • Karin’s “Happy Hormones” brought sheer joy and camaraderie to the stage. New dancers shone with confidence, supported by smart coaching and group trust.

  • Rachida’s A/M veil group dazzled with synchronised grace and innovative styling, contemporary touches on a classical base.

  • Lhamo’s “radioactive” solo was explosive! Isolations under a veil, and tension building to a powerful release.

  • Julie’s Fusion group charmed with playfulness and musical surprises. It was fun, clever, and full of flair.

  • Simone, Julie & girls in the Laboratory had the whole audience howling. We’ll never forget the belly laughs, comic timing… or the unexpected burps!

  • The FCBD dancers showed the beauty of improvisational trust, leading, following, and flowing as one.

  • Choreo Lab (Rachida) was a vibrant collaboration. Costumes by Zoë were stunning, and the moment Georgia stood on top of a human pyramid? Electric!

  • Seeing Julie and her daughters with Lhamo on stage was a true emotional highlight. Their strength, unity, and contrast radiated deep confidence.

  • Marie-Christine’s solo was all control and tension. The deep breath soundtrack, lighting, and muscular precision gave us goosebumps.

  • ZEOT Bern Mirari Show Group’s piece was raw and bold. Just dancers, no props, evoking molecules forming and breaking apart.

  • The Chinese dance group commanded swords, sleeves, and fans with elegance and skill, expressing complex inner states with external precision.

  • Lhamo’s ZeoT Zürich show group stunned with swirling black capes and the illusion of fire and ash. Their final pose was mythic and unforgettable.

  • In the final piece, Nicole’s Derwish Dance Division transported us to a sky-blue dreamscape where clouds of smoke floated like spirits. A perfect, transcendent close.
